Quality over Quantity: The New PT Model

We get this question on a daily basis…”Do you take insurance?”

And for those that don’t already know the answer, no…we happily do not bill insurance companies.

Although BWPT has been an out-of-network provider since we first began seeing patients, we know that there are still many people who may not fully understand why we take a strong stance not to work with insurance companies. We want you to know that this is not a personal decision, but a decision made so that we could better serve our patients and community! We hope this blog clears up any questions or concerns that you may have, while providing insight on how we strive to provide the best outcomes for our patients through the cash-based model.

We like to call it, the "Patient Care First" model.

Insurance companies have too much control over your care. They dictate what types of services you may receive, how long the service may be, as well as the amount of visits these services will be "approved" for.

They also don't tell you that you will be sharing time with someone else, because the reimbursement is so bad. If you were one of these patients that got mixed up in the traditional model of physical therapy, you often found yourself doing exercises in the corner by yourself for 30 minutes because insurance reimburses the most for exercise! The traditional model of physical therapy sacrifices patient quality for patient quantity. It's all about the numbers...

We know that being out-of-network with insurance is a different concept for some to understand. Although our "Patient Care Comes First" model may be cash-based, your health is worth it and investing in a healthier you should always be a top priority!
